Active Legislation

FJATA follows state, federal, and international pending legislation in an effort to ensure that the voice of the jewelry and accessories industries is heard clearly throughout proceedings that are relevant to our members and affiliates. Bills may be addressed in committees and public hearings at any time, so check back frequently for updates to the status of any bills of interest to you.

FJATA Achievements

FJATA is proud of its leadership role in ensuring that the fashion jewelry and accessories industries are on the cutting edge of developing new standards and devising best practices. FJATA is working in several state legislatures to advocate against legislation on heavy metals in jewelry that would harm the fashion jewelry industry, deny consumers access to safe products and do nothing to improve jewelry safety.

Activities

FJATA is working on behalf of its members to ensure a promising future for our industry. This year, as in years past, has been challenging for the fashion jewelry and accessories industries. Our success in preventing unnecessary bills from passing does not reduce the need to address issues raised by other recent enacted laws. FJATA is working to distribute the real facts about our industry and to inform decision-makers about the products we are proud to bring to our consumers.
